Operations Manager | Cape Town | Surf Club
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced OPERATIONS MANAGER to oversee the day‑to‑day running of a dynamic, member‑focused surf lifesaving club in Cape Town’s Clifton. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse operational portfolios including sports, education and duty, commercial activities, and administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational plans across sports competitions, training programs, and duty rosters.
- Coordinate logistics for events, including equipment, catering, and venue management.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage hospitality services, apparel sales, and venue hire, driving growth in commercial revenue.
- Supervise casual staff and volunteers, ensuring efficient scheduling and performance.
- Maintain accurate records including asset registers, financial reports, and supplier schedules.
- Provide weekly and monthly operational reports to the committee.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping, maintenance, and member service.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification in Hospitality or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ post‑graduate operational management experience.
- Strong background in facilities management and customer service.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with POS systems advantageous.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.

- Competitive basic salary with travel allowance.

- In‑season working hours include evenings, weekends, and public holidays; out‑of‑season hours are reduced.
