Sales & Marketing Manager | South Africa HYBRID | Luxury Hospitality Brand
We are currently looking for a visionary and results-driven SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER to join a newly established luxury hospitality brand in South Africa. The individual will lead and implement the marketing and sales strategy across its two exclusive properties: a premier boutique wine estate in Franschhoek (head office location) and a reimagined safari lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve.
As a key member of the pre-launch and ongoing operations team, this role will play a central part in introducing this exciting new collection to the world, shaping its reputation, and driving revenue growth. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and building strong trade relationships, enhancing the guest journey through digital storytelling, and developing a unique brand presence across multiple markets.
As ideal candidates, you will have:
- Relevant diploma or degree in hotel/hospitality/wine Marketing & Sales
- Diploma in Travel and Tourism (advantageous)
- Extensive experience (minimum 5-6 years) in a similar role representing a luxury hospitality brand in sales and marketing
- An advanced level of computer literacy with a special focus on hospitality data use systems, as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and other relevant tools
- Well presented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effective leadership skills to motivate, grow, promote, and develop a strong marketing and brand ambassador culture within the business
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Must have own reliable car with a valid driver’s license
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Superior project management and time management skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
- Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
- Must be proactive and curious
- A passion for the industry, with a positive attitude and the ability to think out of the box
- Humble, yet driven with a track record of performance
Key responsibilities:
Brand & Strategic Launch of The Brand
- Lead the marketing roll-out of the brand across both properties, ensuring consistent storytelling, visuals, and brand positioning.
- Collaborate with EXCO on the launch campaign, media strategy, and guest communications ahead of each property’s formal unveiling under the new brand.
Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement property-specific and portfolio-wide marketing strategies to meet occupancy, revenue, and positioning goals.
- Align all campaigns with The brand’s tone, purpose, and values, reflecting a curated lifestyle of authenticity, luxury, and place-based experience.
Communications and PR
- Plan and oversee all internal and external marketing and communications.
- Manage outsourced digital strategies (email, ads, websites, etc.).
- Oversee digital campaigns (SEM, OTAs, meta-search).
- Coordinate marketing calendar activities (content, campaigns, media, social, digital, B2B, specials, rates, internal).
- Liaise with PR company on campaigns, press releases, and media monitoring.
- Maintain current media kit.
- Develop and manage influencer toolkits and collaborations.
- Implement PR campaigns for achievements and seasonal events.
- Maintain Google Business and TripAdvisor listings.
Database Management
- Email distribution system, segmenting and updating databases
- Co -ordinate distribution of newsletters and post reporting, unsubscribes and opt in communication flow.
- Management and co-ordination of the communication strategies in line with the different market segments.
Sales & Trade Engagement
- Build and maintain key relationships with luxury tour operators, DMCs, travel advisors, and OTAs (local & international).
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets (REVPAR, occupancy).
- Organize and host site inspections, trade events, educational stays, and FAM trips.
- Coordinate participation in trade shows and sales missions (logistics, materials).
- Represent the brand at industry events.
Digital Marketing & Content Creation & Content Management on 3rd party portals
- Manage content calendars for social media, email, blogs, and websites.
- Oversee visual asset creation (photos, videos, reels).
- Manage brand websites (performance, SEO).
- Oversee digital channels: social media, email, paid campaigns (Google, Meta, OTAs), website.
- Manage third-party digital marketing partners.
- Ensure consistent and updated content on all platforms (WETU, OTAs, directories, websites).
- Manage SEO, quality scores, and user journeys.
Public Relations & Media Exposure
- Coordinate with PR teams to generate strong media coverage across relevant publications.
- Host media and influencer stays, ensuring a seamless and story-rich guest experience.
Brand custodian & CI Management
- Serve as brand custodian for the collection and its properties.
- Manage procurement of branded collateral (stationery, etc.).
- Ensure consistent brand application across all materials and in-room assets.
- Manage on-site signage, stationery, gifting, and branded guest touchpoints.
Event & Campaign Management
- Coordinate and co-host property events, trade partner functions, and promotional activations.
- Manage the marketing calendar across the portfolio and ensure campaign deliverables and content pipelines are aligned.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Monitor KPIs (sales conversion, digital engagement, web traffic, trade performance).
- Provide regular performance reports and budget management
- Develop and manage marketing and communication budgets.
- Provide regular reporting on campaign performance, market trends, sales KPIs, and ROI.
- Maintain sales & marketing databases and reporting
- Administer CRM campaigns, email flows, and post-campaign analytics.
Guest Engagement & Feedback
- Act as brand ambassador on all guest-facing platforms.
- Respond to guest reviews and collate feedback trends for operational reporting.
- Support guest experience optimization in collaboration with property GMs.
General
- Assist Directors with marketing, advertising, and sales plan preparation for the annual budget.
- Set sales, occupancy, and revenue targets via a strategic sales plan.
- Prepare/implement data for strategic sales plans, monthly/annual reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage and control marketing & communication budgets effectively.
- Develop partnerships with local organizations to increase brand/product awareness.
- Liaise with exco to direct internal/external sales and marketing plans (domestic/international).
