Pastry Chef | Jhb | Multi‑Concept Restaurant Group
We’re seeking skilled and disciplined PASTRY CHEFS to support the Head Chef in delivering consistency, innovation, and operational excellence across a dynamic group of restaurants.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a passion for pastry excellence at flagship restaurants in Parkhurst or Bryanston. Proven expertise with laminated doughs, plated desserts, and bakery production, paired with adaptability across the group’s Greek, steakhouse, and Italian concepts, ensures alignment with diverse culinary standards.
Experience & Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or equivalent professional certification
- 3–5+ years’ experience in fine‑dining or premium casual restaurants
- Proven expertise in laminated doughs, viennoiserie, and plated desserts
- Strong technical knowledge of textures, flavor balance, and presentation in pastry and bakery
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in high‑volume service environments
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to balance creative input with disciplined operational management
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the pastry and bakery section with precision and consistency
- Ensure all pastry and dessert items meet brand‑aligned culinary identity and standards
- Support menu development, seasonal changes, and flavor innovation
- Oversee preparation, presentation, and portion control to the highest standards
- Monitor food costing, procurement, and supplier relationships
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and operational standards across the kitchen
- Collaborate with management and fellow chefs to align operations with business goals
Salary Package
- R8 – 10 000 CTC, no additional benefits
