Short Job Description:
As the General Manager, you will be the driving force behind the seamless operation and success of the lodge. Your exceptional leadership and management skills will ensure that our lodge maintains its reputation as a premier destination for discerning travelers seeking unparalleled luxury and personalized service. You will oversee all aspects of lodge operations, including guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and staff management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a dedicated team to deliver the highest level of service and guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement effective strategies for improving guest experiences and maximizing revenue.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of all lodge operations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages growth and development for all staff members.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, anticipating their needs, and exceeding their expectations.
- Monitor financial performance, budgeting, and cost control to ensure the lodge’s profitability.
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to enhance the lodge’s visibility and attract new clientele.
Requirements:
- Hospitality qualification – minimum Diploma – crucial for the work permit
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in the hospitality industry.
- Extensive knowledge of luxury lodge operations and high-end guest services.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate the team.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve financial targets.
- A passion for conservation and sustainable tourism practices is desirable.
- Previous experience in Uganda or other African destinations is an advantage.
