Hostess | Johannesburg | Upmarket Restaurant
An established and rapidly expanding hospitality group—known for its vibrant, high-volume, upmarket dining concepts in Bryanston and Parkhurst—is seeking an exceptional HOSTESS to join the team immediately.
As the face of the venue, you will set the tone for every guest who walks through our doors. We are looking for someone who combines warmth, elegance, and sharp organizational skills to manage guest arrivals, reservations, and floor flow seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Front-of-House Reception:
- Deliver a warm, polished, and memorable welcome and farewell to all guests.
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and ensure a smooth hand-off to the floor waitstaff.
- Reservation & Table Management:
- Manage daily floor reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using reservation management software (e.g., Dineplan / SevenRooms).
- Coordinate closely with floor managers and the general manager to optimize table turnover and seating flow during high-volume service.
- Answer phone calls, handle booking inquiries, and manage special guest requests with professionalism.
- Guest Relations & Ambience:
- Recognize regular clientele and VIP guests, ensuring personalized service.
- Maintain an immaculate, elegant, and organized host station and entrance area at all times.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hostess or front-of-house receptionist experience in an upmarket, high-volume restaurant or luxury hospitality environment.
- Communication: Flawless verbal communication and phone etiquette.
- Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience with digital reservation systems and basic POS operations.
- Attributes: Poised, highly organized, charismatic, and capable of managing busy front-of-house arrival flows with grace and composure under pressure.
Salary package: Market related
