We are seeking an experienced HOUSEKEEPER to join the team of a private household located in Bishopscourt, Cape Town.

This is a long‑term opportunity to become part of a South African family’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care and presentation for both the owners and their selective rental guests.

Housekeeper – Role Overview
  • The property is a private residence in a luxury area of Bishopscourt, occupied by a young couple for four months of the year.
  • During the remaining months, the home is rented out to carefully chosen guests, requiring consistent upkeep and guest‑ready presentation.
  • These are permanent positions, ideal for candidates who want to build a long‑term relationship with the family and contribute positively to the household environment.
Housekeeper – Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Housekeeping: Clean and maintain all areas of the home to a consistently high standard.
  • Laundry Care: Washing, ironing, and garment care.
  • Guest Readiness: Ensure spaces are prepared for owners and rental guests.
  • Furnishings & Equipment: Care for fittings, furnishings, and household equipment.
  • Checklist Compliance: Follow structured daily checklists and household guidelines.
  • Professional Interaction: Engage warmly and professionally with owners and guests.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively alongside another housekeeper, reporting to the owners and management company.
Housekeeper – Candidate Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Valid South African ID or legal right to work in South Africa.
  • Previous experience in luxury household housekeeping or hospitality housekeeping.
  • Solid laundry knowledge and garment care skills.

Skills & Attributes

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
  • Honest, loyal, hardworking, and detail‑oriented.
  • Warm, homely personality that enhances the household atmosphere.
  • Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy at all times.
  • Willingness to learn correct cleaning methods for luxury surfaces and finishes.
  • No criminal record.
  • Able to work during weekends and public holidays when required.

Housekeeper – Practical Requirements

  • Own transport or comfort with public transport.
  • Flexibility to work in Bishopscourt.
  • Potential suitability for a live‑in arrangement – will be decided during the interview process.

Position Details

  • Position Type: this is a full time position
  • Working Hours: standard 40 hours per week
  • Working Days: 5 days per week, with flexibility for weekends and public holidays
  • Overtime Pay: 1.5× for weekends, 2× for public holidays
  • Salary Range: R 9,000 – R11,000 per month (net, dependent on experience)
  • Accommodation: this is a Live‑out position, with potential live‑in option
  • Estimated Start Date: October 2026
  • Probation Period: 3 months
