We are seeking an elegant, confident HOSTESSES to welcome guests, manage reservations, and ensure seamless front-of-house operations at a luxury dining venue in Cape Town.
Our client is a well-established hospitality group from Johannesburg. The group is coming to Cape Town, with their first flagship restaurant to be opened in Cape Town’s Moullie Point in October.
Estimated Start: September for October opening.
Hostesses Role Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of Cape Town’s most refined hospitality environments, where service excellence meets coastal sophistication. As the Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for guests—setting the tone for their entire dining experience. Your role is pivotal in creating a warm, professional, and memorable welcome while maintaining the smooth flow of reservations and seating.
You will combine poise and personality with precision and organization. From greeting guests at the door to coordinating with the service team, you will ensure that every interaction reflects the venue’s commitment to premium hospitality.
Hostesses Key Responsibilities
- Guest Reception: Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring every arrival feels valued and attended to.
- Reservation Management: Handle bookings via phone, email, and walk-ins. Maintain accurate records and manage seating flow efficiently.
- Seating Coordination: Assign tables strategically to balance guest comfort and operational efficiency. Communicate clearly with waitstaff and management.
- Guest Relations: Build rapport with regular patrons, assist with special requests, and ensure personalized service.
- Service Support: Collaborate with the floor team to maintain smooth transitions between seatings and service periods.
- Presentation Standards: Maintain impeccable grooming and uniform standards that reflect the prestige of luxury hospitality.
- Communication: Liaise effectively between guests, management, and staff to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Problem Resolution: Handle guest concerns diplomatically and promptly, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with daily reports, guest feedback logs, and reservation summaries.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hostess or front-of-house experience in luxury hotels or fine-dining restaurants – non negotiable
- Personality: Charismatic, poised, and naturally hospitable with a genuine passion for guest service.
- Skills: Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities. Proficiency with reservation systems and POS software is an advantage.
- Attributes: Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and impeccably presented.
- Language: Fluent in English; additional languages are beneficial.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
