Lodge Manager | Luxury Hospitality
An exclusive collection of luxury wilderness lodges in Tanzania is seeking an experienced LODGE MANAGER.

The successful candidate will combine strong leadership abilities with a hands-on operational approach, ensuring the highest levels of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. This position is ideally suited to an individual who has extensive experience working in remote lodge environments and understands the challenges and rewards of managing a luxury hospitality operation in the bush.
The Position
As Lodge Manager, you will take full responsibility for the daily management of a remote luxury lodge. You will lead a team of approximately 40 to 45 employees and work closely with departmental supervisors to ensure smooth and effective operations across all areas of the property.
Your role will focus on maintaining exceptional guest service standards, overseeing logistics, supporting employee development, and ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable and personalized stay. The position requires a highly organized professional with excellent communication skills, sound decision-making abilities, and a genuine passion for hospitality and wildlife destinations.
The Lodge Manager will serve as the operational leader on-site and will be expected to create a positive working culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Lodge Manager – Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing all day-to-day lodge operations.
- Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of approximately 40 to 45 staff members.
- Upholding luxury hospitality standards across all guest-facing and operational areas.
- Monitoring service delivery to ensure a consistently outstanding guest experience.
- Coordinating logistics and supply management in a remote environment.
- Managing staff performance, training, and development.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures.
- Addressing guest feedback and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Supporting conservation-minded tourism practices and sustainable lodge operations.
- Working closely with department heads to achieve operational and guest satisfaction goals.
Lodge Manager – Candidate Requirements
Remote Bush Experience
Applicants must have a proven history of working in remote bush or wilderness hospitality environments. Experience in luxury safari lodges, wilderness camps, or similar remote tourism operations is essential.
Leadership and Operational Expertise
Candidates should demonstrate strong operational leadership experience within the hospitality sector. Previous responsibility for managing large teams of 40 or more employees is required.
Health and Fitness
Given the remote nature of the location, applicants must be in good physical health and capable of working in demanding outdoor environments.
Additional Advantages
The following qualifications and experience will be considered highly beneficial:
- Previous field guiding knowledge or practical guiding experience.
- Fluency in one or more European languages.
- Experience working with international guests.
- Strong interpersonal and cultural awareness skills.
- Knowledge of luxury safari operations and wilderness tourism.
Work Schedule and Leave
- Six weeks on-site, two weeks off duty.
- Annual leave of 28 days of paid annual leave per year.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary – USD 3,000 to USD 3,500 per month.
