Join new Cape Town seafront restaurant as a Floor Manager – leading guest experience, team training, and premium casual dining operations.
An established and fast-expanding Johannesburg hospitality group is preparing to unveil its flagship seafront dining concept in Mouille Point, Cape Town. As part of this landmark launch, we are seeking a vibrant, detail-oriented, and guest-focused FLOOR MANAGER to join the core leadership team.
This is a pivotal opportunity to play a central role in shaping the guest journey and operational excellence of one of Cape Town’s most anticipated restaurant openings. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be the heartbeat of the dining room—ensuring seamless service execution, elevating guest experience, and driving daily floor operations during our September pre-opening phase and October grand launch.
Floor Manager Role Overview
The Floor Manager will be responsible for leading the front-of-house team, coordinating service flow, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. You will combine sharp operational control with charismatic guest engagement, ensuring that every table reflects the brand’s premium casual dining ethos.
Floor Manager Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Opening Support: Assist the GM in building, training, and inspiring a polished front-of-house team. Participate in SOP implementation, table mapping, and service rehearsals to ensure readiness for launch.
- Floor Leadership: Lead daily shift briefings, set service expectations, and maintain a strong, visible presence on the floor during peak service. Direct table flow, guest seating, and pacing to guarantee a flawless dining experience.
- Guest Relations: Actively engage with guests, handle immediate feedback with tact, and foster repeat clientele. Build relationships that reflect the brand’s commitment to warm, professional hospitality.
- Quality Control: Ensure the dining room, pass, and service stations meet impeccable standards of presentation, hygiene, and efficiency.
- Team Management: Support staff scheduling, coaching, and performance management. Motivate the team to deliver consistent excellence.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with POS cash-ups, daily opening and closing procedures, and operational reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years as a Floor Manager or Assistant Manager in a high-volume, upmarket casual or premium dining environment.
- Leadership Style: Hands-on, energetic, and visible team player who thrives in fast-paced service.
- Skills: Strong floor control, excellent communication, cash-up procedures, and sound knowledge of POS systems.
- Attributes: Sharp eye for detail, passionate about hospitality, calm under pressure, and polished in presentation.
