Leading South African footwear and apparel retailer has an exciting Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator  position available in Houghton Estate, Joburg.

 

We are looking for a dynamic and commercially focused Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator with experience supporting digital marketing, e-commerce operations, content creation and customer engagement within a fast-paced retail environment. Skilled in coordinating online campaigns, maintaining website and product content, supporting social media and email marketing initiatives, monitoring e-commerce performance and using data to identify opportunities to improve customer experience and online sales.

Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator Responsibilities:

Campaign Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate the rollout of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Maintain a campaign calendar and ensure deliverables from cross-functional teams are received on time.

Content Planning & Oversight

  • Lead the weekly content planning meetings to align with brand strategy, retail calendars, and product priorities.
  • Liaise with internal and external creative resources to brief in and review content before publication.

Reporting & Insights

  • Compile and present monthly marketing performance dashboards highlighting campaign effectiveness, engagement metrics, and ROI.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve future marketing and advertising activities.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for creative agencies, influencers, and platform account managers (e.g., Meta, Google).
  • Manage contracts, invoices, and performance tracking of third-party service providers.

Brand Asset Management

  • Ensure consistent use of brand guidelines across all marketing materials, digital platforms, and event collateral.
  • Maintain and update a central repository of marketing and brand assets.

Budget Tracking & Coordination

  • Assist in tracking marketing spend against budget, flagging variances and preparing monthly summaries for review.
  • Support with raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and liaising with finance as needed.

Team Support & Training

  • Train and supervise interns or junior team members on tools, systems, and platforms used within the department.
  • Lead onboarding for new marketing team members related to internal processes and platforms.

Process Development

  • Identify areas for improvement within marketing workflows and propose or implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to increase efficiency.

Customer Engagement Strategy

  • Contribute to the planning and refinement of the customer engagement journey across social and digital touchpoints, including automation, segmentation, and personalization.

Crisis Communication & Brand Reputation for the Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator

  • Monitor emerging online issues or customer complaints and escalate potential brand risks to senior team members promptly, proposing recommended responses when needed.

 

Requirements for the Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator:
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, advertising, business administration, communications or a related field is beneficial.
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Digital Marketing & Ecommerce coordinator.
  • Preferably candidate with a strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and analytics tools or social media management software.
  • Proficiency in HTML, Cascading Style Sheets and other web development languages.
  • Previous experience in digital marketing or related fields, such as social media management, content creation or SEO.
  • Proven experience in generating online sales and understanding web design software.
  • Proficiency in SEO, digital marketing, and web analytics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high pressure and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, UX, Dreamweaver, and Google Analytics and Shopify are desirable.

 

Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator salary: Market-related salary package.
