Project Manager | Claremont | Catering Company
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced PROJECT MANAGER to oversee the full operational scope of a healthcare catering unit. Working closely with the Catering Manager, you’ll lead kitchen and service teams to deliver high-quality meals, maintain compliance, and drive profitability. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to shape standards and elevate service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of meal preparation, kitchen hygiene, and food storage
- Lead weekly staff meetings and provide operational updates
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, portion control, and service
- Oversee ordering, inventory rotation, and supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies
- Monitor financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Supervise cash handling, stock checks, and payroll processes
- Prevent food waste and optimize gross profit margins
- Train and motivate staff to uphold company’s quality standards
Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Culinary Arts or Project Management
- Minimum 8 years of managerial experience (preferred)
- Strong culinary skills and experience in resale operations
- Proficient in performance management, financial analysis, and HR practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building abilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic and outcome-focused thinking
- Computer literacy and strong administrative skills
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
Salary:
- ZAR 30-40k CTC
