Executive Development Chef | Victoria Falls | 5 Star Hotel
A prestigious luxury 5-star hotel located in the iconic destination of Victoria Falls is seeking an experienced, visionary EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT CHEF to lead its entire culinary operation in Zimbabwe. This senior leadership role requires a strategic professional who will drive culinary innovation, food quality, and strict consistency across multiple premium outlets and banqueting functions, while maintaining robust cost controls and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Culinary Leadership: Oversee all kitchen operations, food production areas, and the development of the kitchen brigade.
- Menu Innovation: Lead creative menu development across all food and beverage outlets and high-profile catering functions, aligning with global culinary trends.
- Quality & Standards: Ensure international standards in food quality, presentation, hygiene, and full HACCP compliance.
- Financial Management: Manage food costs, operational budgets, procurement, and kitchen financial performance.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain kitchen SOPs, equipment standards, safety protocols, and robust supplier relationships.
Requirements & Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef within a luxury 5-star environment.
- Regional Expertise: Proven work experience within Africa is essential. A candidate of international origin with strong African market experience is preferred.
- Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery.
- Skills: Strong leadership, menu engineering, financial cost control expertise, and computer literacy (MS Office).
- Attributes: A hands-on, commercially driven leader who can effortlessly balance creative culinary flair with strict profitability. Detail-oriented, resilient, culturally aware, and highly experienced in high-volume operations and VIP service delivery.
