Guest House Manager | Swellendam | Guest Farm
A charming, boutique guest farm located in the scenic Swellendam / Buffeljags area is seeking a dedicated and proactive GUEST HOUSE MANAGER to oversee day-to-day operations.
This picturesque property offers diverse, high-quality self-catering accommodation options perfectly tailored for single, couple, family, or group travel. Key Responsibilities
- Guest Relations: Manage warm guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring an exceptional, personalized guest experience from arrival to departure.
- Reservation Management: Handle bookings, respond to WhatsApp, email, and booking inquiries promptly, and manage channels including NightsBridge and Booking.com.
- Operations & Housekeeping: Assist with housekeeping coordination, conduct strict quality control, and help prepare rooms and guest amenities to impeccable standards.
- Administration: Execute basic administration, manage payment handling, and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the property.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience within a hospitality, guest house, or lodge environment is highly preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English is preferred to effectively communicate with the diverse guest base.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer literacy is essential; prior experience with NightsBridge and online booking platforms is a distinct advantage.
- Attributes: A professional, friendly, and reliable personality. You must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and the drive to take initiative.
- Flexibility: Comfortable working weekends and public holidays as dictated by seasonal guest trends.
Position Details
- Location: Swellendam / Buffeljags area
- Estimated Start Date: August 2026
- Team Environment: Join a small, dedicated team of 6 staff members where individual contribution is valued and recognized.
- Meals & Accommodation: Please note that this position does not include live-in accommodation or on-duty meals.
- Salary: Market-related and negotiable based on experience (to be discussed with shortlisted candidates).
