Data Capturers | Hospitality | Joburg
An established restaurant group in Johannesburg is looking for experienced DATA CAPTURERS to join its finance and accounting team.
The successful candidates will assist with the accurate capturing and processing of financial information relating to restaurant operations.
This is not a general data capturing position. Applicants must have previous experience working with financial and accounting data within the hospitality industry and must understand basic accounting processes relating to debtors, creditors and cashbook.
Hospitality accounting experience is a non-negotiable requirement. Candidates without previous accounting experience gained within restaurants, hotels, hospitality groups or a closely related hospitality environment will unfortunately not be considered.
Key Responsibilities for Data Capturers
- The Data Capturers will assist the finance and accounting team with the accurate processing, capturing and maintenance of financial information.
- Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Capturing financial transactions accurately and timeously
- Processing supplier invoices and supporting documentation
- Capturing creditors transactions
- Assisting with creditors reconciliations
- Processing information relating to supplier accounts
- Checking invoices and documentation before capturing
- Capturing debtor transactions where required
- Assisting with debtor account administration
- Processing payments and receipts accurately
- Capturing cashbook transactions
- Assisting with bank and cashbook reconciliations
- Allocating payments and receipts correctly
- Capturing restaurant financial information
- Checking captured information for accuracy
- Identifying obvious discrepancies and referring these to the appropriate member of the finance team
- Maintaining complete and accurate supporting documentation
- Assisting with filing and organisation of accounting documentation
- Processing high volumes of financial information within required deadlines
- Ensuring supplier information is captured against the correct accounts
- Assisting the accounting team with financial administration
- Working with information received from restaurant outlets and operational teams
- Following established accounting and internal control procedures
- Maintaining accurate electronic and physical financial records
- Assisting with month-end administration where required
- Supporting the finance department with general bookkeeping and data capturing duties
Data Capturers – Minimum Requirements
- Candidates applying for these positions must meet the following requirements:
- Previous financial data capturing or bookkeeping experience
- Previous hospitality accounting experience is essential
- Experience gained within restaurants, hotels, hospitality groups or a similar hospitality environment
- Practical knowledge of debtors
- Practical knowledge of creditors
- Practical knowledge of cashbook processing
- Experience capturing invoices, payments, receipts and other financial transactions
- Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Ability to work accurately with numerical information
- Good computer literacy
- Experience working with accounting or financial software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to process information quickly without compromising accuracy
- Ability to handle repetitive financial administration while maintaining concentration and accuracy
- Ability to work with deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a finance team
- Reliable and responsible approach to work
- Hospitality Accounting Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality accounting is a compulsory requirement for these positions.
This position could suit an experienced Accounts Data Capturer, Finance Data Capturer, Accounts Clerk, Creditors Clerk, Debtors Clerk, Junior Bookkeeper or Finance Administrator who has relevant hospitality accounting experience.
Salary on offer for Data Capturers:
Approximately ZAR 10000 net per month, depending on experience, qualifications and suitability for the position.
