We are recruiting a charismatic, professional, and energetic team of WAITERS to deliver an unforgettable guest experience during our September pre-opening preparations and October grand launch of a new opening restaurant. Our client is an established and fast-expanding Johannesburg hospitality group, currently preparing to launch its flagship seafront restaurant concept in Mouille Point, Cape Town.

This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic group at the forefront of South Africa’s premium casual dining scene. We are looking for individuals who embody hospitality, thrive in high-volume environments, and bring both personality and precision to the floor.

Role Overview

As a Waiter, you will be the heartbeat of the guest journey. From the first warm welcome to the final bill presentation, you will ensure every interaction reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence. You will combine product knowledge with attentive service, guiding guests through menus, wine pairings, and signature dishes while maintaining seamless table operations.

Waiters’ Key Responsibilities
  • Service Excellence: Welcome guests with warmth and confidence, present menus clearly, and articulate food and beverage offerings with passion. Deliver attentive, detailed service that enhances every dining occasion.
  • Upselling & Guest Guidance: Drive sales by recommending daily specials, wine pairings, and signature dishes. Use product knowledge to elevate the guest experience while boosting revenue.
  • Floor Operations: Manage assigned sections efficiently during peak service. Ensure smooth pacing, accurate order placement via POS systems, and timely delivery of food and beverages.
  • Table Management: Clear, clean, and reset tables swiftly to maintain flow and presentation. Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen pass, bar team, and floor managers to synchronize service. Attend daily pre-shift briefings and ongoing training sessions to stay updated on menu changes and service standards.
  • Professional Conduct: Represent the brand with professionalism, ensuring company policies and operational procedures are followed consistently.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years as Waiters in a busy, upmarket casual or fine-dining environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of food, wine, and basic spirit service. Ability to confidently recommend pairings and explain menu items.
  • Personality: Charismatic, energetic, articulate, and passionate about hospitality.
  • Attributes: High attention to detail, strong multi-tasking skills, neat professional appearance, and composure under pressure.
  • Flexibility: able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
